Workout Classes

Leverhulme Park Community Leisure Centre offers 24 workout classes each week plus virtual spin sessions. Workout classes are a great way to achieve your health and fitness goals – complement your existing workout programme with a technique class or choose from a selection of classes to help you lose weight, tone up or simply feel great.


NEW Parent and baby spin class

A fantastic way to get fit, increase your energy and improve your core strength. Bring your baby along and take part in our spin class with experienced instructor, Emma.

Your child sits in front of you in their car seat or buggy, where you can see each other, or you can even hold them in a baby carrier. You’re in control of how hard you work out, supported all the way by Emma.

Everyone benefits from the sensory experience of the coloured lights and music (which is turned down a little!) and you’ll leave feeling great.

We start at 9.45am on Tuesdays. It’s best to arrive 15 minutes early to get your bike set up and ensure baby is comfortable before you start.

Essential information:
  • The room is quite cool for the workout, so your little one will be fine snuggled up in their favourite blanket.
  • Take breaks whenever you want if you need to take care of feeding or nappies – you won’t be the only one doing that!
  • For safety, children must be strapped into their seat or held at all times.
  • We’ve got baby changing facilities and there’s loads of free car parking.
  • Spaces are limited, please book in advance.

 


NEW TRX sessions Thursdays 18.00 – 18.30

Join instructor Will for a 30 minute aerobic session that works on strength, balance, flexibility and core strength, all at once.

What’s TRX?

Ever notice those long black straps hanging in the gym and you’re not quite sure what to do with them?

That’ll be the TRX, a brilliant, simple and versatile piece of equipment that you use for a full body workout. It stands for Total Body Resistance Exercise and once you’ve given it a go, you’ll never look back!

Only 8 places available per session ensuring you get plenty of individual coaching to perfect your technique. Please book to reserve your place.

 



NEW Bootcamp Class

This fun class varies session to session. You’ll use battle ropes, tyres, kettle bells, ladders and much more. Suitable for all fitness levels aged 16+. A fantastic way to kick start your fitness journey or give your current routine a boost!

Class Descriptions


 

Circuits
All round programme including weights and cardiovascular workouts. Excellent for stamina building, fat burning and toning, A circuits takes fitness to a higher level. An energetic and varied class.

Legs, Bums & Tums
The class involves doing choreographed exercise based on the thigh and stomach area. It will tone and shape your body.

Go Tri
Very short Triathlon Event, bike, run. Aimed at people 16+ wanting to have a go at multi sport events. An ideal way of getting involved in triathlon for the first time in a fun, safe environment.
Wednesdays 18.30 - 19.30- £4.70

Metafit
High impact, intense bodyweight training to burn calories and tone/shape the muscles.

PiYo
PiYo combines the muscle-sculpting, core-firming benefits of Pilates with the strength and flexibility advantages of yoga. Thursdays 18.15 - 19.00 - £4.70

Spinning
A group cycling class to music using varied speed, resistance and style. You will blast tons of calories in a short time but at your own speed.

Yoga
YOGA-Improve flexibility, static strength and body awareness. Incorporates varied methods like Ashtanga and Hatha Yoga. Hatha Yoga Classes may involve an element of hands on physical adjustment to ensure joints and muscles are aligned correctly.

Zumba
Dynamic mix of salsa, rumba and merengue set to the inspirational rhythm of Latino music, it is impossible not to shimmy and shake the pounds away.
