Bolton Community Leisure Trust
Background:
Bolton Community Leisure was formed as a company limited by guarantee on 2nd December 2003 and took over the operation of 2 leisure centres and 9 Dual Use leisure centres during the first quarter of 2004. The trust achieved charity commission registration in December 2006.
Vision:
The Partnership aims to create opportunities through the provision of leisure centre services that are at the heart of community life, safe, friendly, accessible and aim to improve the physical, mental, spiritual and social well-being of Bolton’s residents.
Mission:
The leisure centre partnership is committed to making a significant and continual improvement in efficiency, effectiveness and economy of the Leisure Centre service through utilising expertise in the public, private and voluntary sectors.

It was agreed that the Partnership between Bolton Community Leisure, Bolton Council and Serco would be driven by a set of values and principles, which will define behaviour and allow the true partnership-working environment to exist.

New Initiatives:
April 2007
Bolton Community Leisure has been successful in obtaining funding to provide 5 Isospa Express Gyms which provide equipment that can be used by children as young as 8 years old. The Trust is keen to provide opportunities for children to tackle the growing issues around childhood obesity.
