The Gym

Horwich Leisure Centre boasts 3 new Fitness Spaces each fully air conditioned and featuring state of the art equipment.

A refurbishment took place in December 2014, and has provided a fantastic, spacious environment in which to work out and exercise with improvements including new lighting, flooring and decoration. There is also a larger free weights area and brand new cardio & resistance equipment including a state of the art Synergy 360T multi-gym. Book a workout session today on the new Synergy 360T multi gym. Our friendly gym instructors will walk you through it.

Begin your fitness journey in the IFI (Inclusive Fitness Initiative) accredited Fitness Space – ideal for those new to exercise or with specific requirements. Choose from cardio vascular (great for your heart and lungs), resistance equipment (great for toning the body) and a free weights area.

Gym Etiquette

We understand that going to the gym or to a workout class for the first time can sometimes seem a little daunting, so here we have detailed everything you need to know to help you on that all important first visit.

  • All users of the gym are required to complete an induction and a PAR-Q medical questionnaire.
  • All personal belongings are to be stored in the lockers provided.
  • Appropriate clothing and footwear for the activity must be worn.
  • Before commencing your workout, please remember to sign in.
  • If you are unsure how to use a piece of equipment, ask an instructor for help.
  • Bring a towel with you on each visit and wipe down equipment after use.
  • At peak times, use may be limited to 15 minutes per piece of equipment. This is at the
discretion of an instructor, but please be considerate to other users.
  • Remember to bring water with you and drink regularly before, during and after your
    workout to avoid dehydration.
