This two-year full-time course for 16-19 year olds provides a solid understanding of working in the leisure, sports and fitness industries, and will equip you with the skills and knowledge required to pursue a career in the sports sector. As part of the course you will complete an internship at Bolton Leisure Centres one day per week.

What will I learn?

This course will cover a range of topics, including:

  • Fitness Testing for Sport & Exercise
  • Sports Development
  • Exercise, Health & Lifestyle
  • Assessing Risk in Sport
  • Sports Facilities & Operational Management

What qualifications will I gain?

  • Sport BTEC Diploma Level 3, which is equivalent to two A-levels
  • CYQ Level 1 Award in Fitness & Physical Activity, which is a fitness instructing qualification
  • NPLQ (National Pool Lifeguard Qualification)

How can I progress afterwards?

Many learners progress to university to study a sports-related degree. Alternatively, as the course develops both your academic knowledge and your practical
